Here we have IIBN Future Leader Programme Chairman and Mentor, Andy Rogers, explaining how important the mentorship programme can be for young, up and coming entrepreneurs and professionals. Andy worked in banking for 38 years in both Dublin and London. He retired eleven years ago from his role as a Senior Executive and has now divided his waking time between paying work and pro-bono activities.
Andy is a non-exec Director of VGC Group Ltd; Director at Premium Golf Brands Ltd; Director of All Saints Catholic Academy Trust; Associate Director of a major contract catering company; advisor to the Boards of a number of Irish companies; and mentor to senior executives in four global companies. Until recently, he was on the Board of Global Shares plc; was Chairman of Trustees of McNicholas Construction (Holdings) Ltd Pension Fund; and Chairman of EMG Communications Ltd.
He is a member of the London 2012 Forum and Chairman of the Irish Community Group within LOCOG. Recently, I joined the Global Irish Network as a UK member.
Andy was on the Foundation Board of IMD in Lausanne, and Chairman of the IMD Alumni Club UK. He is a Council member of The Ireland Fund of GB; Patron of SafeStart; Board member of Nat Youth Orchestra of Ireland; UK Committee of GOAL; Chairman of London Committee of Help the Aged ; Chairman of Sligo Business Network London.
In Nov 2011, He received a royal knighthood, KMCO ( a Knight of Merit of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George).
