Tuesday, 30th of August saw the launch of Belmond's Grand Hibernian train. The train departed from Heuston with it's 40 passengers for a 6 day tour around Ireland.
The six-night, 'Grand Tour of Ireland' itinerary covers 2,217km, with guests travelling to Cork, Killarney, Galway, Belfast and Waterford before returning to Dublin.
The Grand Hibernian was refurbished and fitted by 40 skilled craftsmen at specialist outfitters Mivan Marine Ltd. in Belfast over the past year.
The train offers two-, four- and six-night journeys, all beginning and ending in Dublin. Each includes daily meals, drinks, excursions and guides. All meals are Irish-influenced including dishes such as seafood chowder, Roast Killarney Venison, Donegal Turf Smoked Salmon and Crab Cannon, Skeaghanore Duck Leg Confit and Warm Kildare Wild Elderberry and Plum Compote.
We wish General Manager, JP Kavanagh, and everyone at Belmond the very best of luck with the future.
