I have been in advertising in various jobs since I was 16. My Dad was boss of what became McCann Belfast, so I went in while still at school. I left and created FireIMC, and worked on the Ulster Bank, Tesco, Tourism NI and many other clients. I left and went digital ten years ago. Too early. I am amazed at how quickly the digital marketing space has become cluttered with "experts" who haven't much of a clue. I developed an idea for the NI Government based around engaging the citizen. It is called Audience First marketing and is all about using the digital channels to talk to people about what interests them, rather than sending them advertising that they don't want. It has shown that if you engage people they will respond positively. We are seeing real behavioural change, which is what marketing is all about.
I run sessions for businesses that never fail to challenge and disrupt their ideas about what they are selling, and what their customers are buying.
