Annual Conference 2019

The conference will be opened by Paul Drechsler, Chair of Bibby Line Group and former Chair of the Confederation of British Industry. Formerly CEO of Wates Group, Paul is a recipient of the 2019 Presidential Distinguished Service Award for the Irish Abroad for his accomplishments in business and services to the construction industry.

Following her appearance on Question Time  Bonnie Greer has become a national hero in Ireland.

The American-born writer and broadcaster's passionate defence of Ireland in the Brexit debate went viral when she told the Question Time audience that Ireland "owes the UK nothing" and warned that the Good Friday agreement needs to be taken more seriously. IIBN is delighted to welcom Professor Louise Richardson, Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford. A political scientist, Professor Richardson is recognised internationally as an expert on terrorism and counter-terrorism. She has written numerous articles on international terrorism, British foreign and defence policy, security institutions, and international relations, lectured to public, professional, media and education groups and served on editorial boards for several journals and presses. A native of County Waterford, she was previously Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of St Andrews

Niall McGarry is Founder of JOE Media and Maximum Media. In Britain, it has grown a social following of 13 million followers. 

Paul Costelloe is one of the most established names in British and Irish fashion. Since the establishment of the fashion house under his own name, this family-owned and run business has been a leader in the use of hand-crafted, luxurious fabrics combined with cutting edge design. He has also developed a highly successful business in developing corporate wear concepts for major multi-nationals and sports teams including British Airways, Delta Airlines and the Irish Olympic Team.

Also confirmed is Peter Sheridan OBE, who is CEO of the charity Co-Operation Ireland and has over 40 years peace-building experience on the island of Ireland. Before joining Co-Operation Ireland in 2008, he was an Assistant Chief Constable with the PSNI and the most highly-ranked Catholic officer in the force’s history. He was also the most senior officer in charge of policing the Irish border. As the Brexit process continues, governments across Europe continue to seek the expertise of Peter and his team. 
Lucinda Creighton is CEO of Vulcan Consulting Ltd and is a former Irish Minister for European Affairs and Member of the Irish Parliament. As Minister for European Affairs she represented Ireland in key negotiations on Ireland’s EU/IMF bailout, leading to a reduction in interest rates and the extension of Ireland’s repayment schedules. She has extensive knowledge of the EU bureaucratic infrastructure and regulatory systems. As CEO of Vulcan Consulting, she works closely with CEOs and senior management teams to assist them in understanding and navigating the political, policy and decision-making environment in Europe, Ireland and across the E.U.
