    Jason Corcoran is an award-winning journalist and macroeconomics strategist who lived in Russia for 13 years and covered the geopolitical upheaval of the former Soviet Union for almost two decades. A former senior correspondent for Bloomberg News, Dow Jones, the Financial Times, and a columnist for the Sunday Times, his recent work on Russia has appeared in the Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, The Independent, the Irish Independent, the Irish Times, the Moscow Times, and Business Insider.

  • Climb with Charlie

    Charlie Bird, the well-known Irish journalist and broadcaster, announced in October 2021, that he has developed Motor neurone disease, after experiencing problems with his voice.  

    On 7th January, Charlie launched ‘Climb with Charlie’, a fundraising initiative in which he will be climbing Croagh Patrick on 2nd April in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Pieta House. 

    IIBN is supporting this "Climb with Charlie" initiative, but instead of climbing Croagh Patrick on Saturday, 2nd April, we are going to climb the magnificient Cuilcagh Legnabrocky Trail, in Co. Fermanagh - see image below.

    (It's not as difficult as Croagh Patrick and typically takes a total of 3 hours to ascend and decend!)

    For those who would like to make a weekend of it, we will be arranging Dinner on both the Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as hotel accommodation in the locality.  (Further details on this will be provided shortly.)

    The Cuilcagh Legnabrocky Trail is about a 2 hour drive from Dub
